Alliance Française Calgary - Soirée Algerie

French-Algerian Identity

What does Franco-Algerian identity mean?

Join us on August 9 at 6:00 p.m. for an immersive journey into the history and identity of France and Algeria. Discover the deep historical ties between these two countries with our amazing teacher, Zinedine (not Zidane).

Algeria was a French colony that gained its independence on July 5, 1962, after several years of war. Today, the two countries remain closely connected, but let’s not reveal too much— you'll learn more during this fantastic evening!

Zinedine will take you on a journey from Biskra to Lille, he will discuss the components of his binational identity, the unique aspects of his two regions, and their history. He will also take the time to answer all your questions during a Q&A session, as well as over a glass of wine and some cheese.
Price : $30 only for members and $90 for non-members (including a one-year membership card). Consider becoming a member of Alliance Française Calgary first and discover many benefits throughout the year ($60 annually). More info here.
