Celebrate 77 years of AFC

Join us for the 77th Anniversary Gala of the Alliance Française Calgary, where we’ll celebrate over seven decades of bringing French culture to life in Calgary since 1947. This special evening will be a toast to our shared success, and we invite you to wear your finest hat—whether it's elegant, quirky, or classic—as we celebrate the theme “Chapeau!”

On Saturday, November 23rd, at 6 p.m., we’ll gather in the Treehouse at cSPACE (4th level) for a soirée à la française like no other!

Event Highlights:

• Enjoy a standing cocktail reception, where you can mingle and move between stations offering French wines, including Champagne and Beaujolais.
• A variety of cheeses from different regions of France.
• Traditional French pastries & sweets
• Hat Contest: Show off your creativity! Prizes will be awarded in three categories!

Dress code: In the spirit of “Chapeau!” we invite everyone to wear a hat and embrace an elegant look—no need to be overly formal if that’s not your style. Think sophisticated and stylish, capturing the essence of French elegance.

You’ll enjoy an evening of French gastronomy, culture, and language, mingling with friendly people and practicing your French! This event is made possible thanks to our wonderful partners.

AFC Members: $85
Non-members: $145 (Price includes the $85 ticket + a one-year membership. See the many benefits of being a member here. If you prefer, you can purchase a one-year membership here and then buy your event ticket separately.)
